The Northern Cape MEC for Agriculture Land Reform and Rural Development Mr Norman Shushu has stressed the significance of education to learners at the Warrenton Primary School. MEC Shushu was addressing learners
during the donations of 120 school uniforms to the needy learners at the school.
The donations of 120 schools uniforms by the MEC follows a survey done by both the Magareng Local Municipality and the Department of Social Development about the living conditions of some learners.
MEC shushu said that it is only through education that the war against poverty can be won. He stated that in education there are no short cuts, and advice them that tender-prenuering is not a quick solution.
He also challenged previous learners to plough back to their respective schools. The handing over ceremony was attended by the Magareng Executive Mayor, Ms Agnes Manopole, Frances Baard District Mayor Ms Kgadi Moloi, Education Head of Department, Mr Tshepo Pharasi and Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Head of Department Mr Wanda Viljoen Mothibi.
