The primary objectives of the Food Security Programme are to co-ordinate and implement various food security projects as highlighted and adopted in the Integrated Food Security Strategy of South Africa and the FSGDS. The Ilima/Letsema grant forms part of this service.

Purpose

To support, advise and coordinate the implementation of National Policy on Food and Nutrition Security

Ensure sufficient quantities of food available on a consistent basis at both
national and household level.
