MEC MASE MANOPOLE TO LEAD THE NELSON MANDELA DAY PROGRAM IN BARKLEY WEST-DIKGATLONG MUNICIPALITY
As part of the International Mandela Day celebration, the MEC for Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform, Mme Mase Manopole will spend the day with the community of De Beershoogte and Mataleng in Barkley West- Dikgatlong Municipality on Monday, 18 July 2022.
Joined by officials from the Department, the MEC and the team will renovate ten houses by painting walls and roof, tiling of floors and repairing of sanitation.
The team will further assist the community by establishing back yard gardens, planting of trees, provision of food parcels, health packs and donating warm clothes.
The Veterinary unit of the Department will vaccinate dogs and cats for rabies disease at the De Beers Community Hall and the Open Space opposite Legae in Mataleng.
This year’s Mandela Day will be celebrated under the theme “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are”.
This is a clarion call to each and every sector of the South African community to be of service to those around them, particularly the vulnerable and the environment.
