MEC Mase Manopole is hosting the Pixley ka Seme District Hemp (low Tetra-Hydra Cannabinol) cannabis Information Session in Nokwazi Township near De Aar.
The MEC is supported by the national Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Cannabis Masterplan presenter, Mr. Cecil Mogatse and the Mayor of Emthanjeni Local Municipality, Clr. Lulamile Mkombi.
In her opening address, MEC Manopole, indicated that the Department is responsible for issuing of Hemp permits as it falls under the sector.
"This is our first interaction with small holder farmers in our various districts, in an effort to provide information on how to apply for the Hemp permit. So far, nine farmers have applied for the license and only three were approved. The Northern Cape received the lowest number of approved licenses, hence we decided to embark on this kind of a roadshow," said MEC Manopole.
After a Farmer has acquired a Hemp permit, they will be able to import, propagate plants, sell seeds and conditioning of seed for cultivation.

- ID copy
- Company registered
- Police clearance certificate
- Tittle deed/ lease agreement
- Map of the farm
- Proof of payment (R672)
