MEC Mase Manopole and MEC Topsy Vilakazi hand over Agricultural start-up packs to the Mandiluve Soup Kitchen in Richmond
The MEC for Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform mme Mase Manopole together with her counter-part from Social Development, MEC Topsy Vilakazi have handed over Agricultural start-up packs to the Mandiluve Soup Kitchen in Richmond - Pixley ka Seme District Municipal area.
Both MECs highlighted a challenge of vandalism as a serious threat to both the center and food security. MEC Manopole reminded the community that part of her mandate is to ensure that there is food security. She, however, added that the community must take pride in the center by taking ownership, as vandalism may hold it backwards.
Both MECs started by planting vegetables such as spinach, beetroot, carrots, butternut, onions and cabbage that will provide nutritious food to the center.
MEC Manopole also visited the BlinkSkuur commonage where the Veterinary Services were tagging and tattooing small stock
The move is part of the Northern Cape Provincial Government Executive Program in the District.The Centre will be in full operation in two months time after meeting all Health Regulatory issues.
