The Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform's Gender Unit challenged women to stand up and be counted in the economic space. This has emerged at the Bergsig Community outside Springbok in the Namakwa District.
This as Departmental units presented topics such as formation of Cooperatives and AgriBEE Funding and Financial Management. Economics Unit's Ms Agnes Lekgetho explained to women that they can't emerge forever as growing is mandatory. She hinted that the fund is available and the Department will assist them to apply provided they submit necessary documentation needed.
This year's Women's theme is "Accelerating Socio-Economic Opportunities for Women Empowerment".
Meanwhile Ms Lucille Karsten from Waste Unit talked about Waste opportunities in the Department
