This means that the NCPVL facility is a member of the council and therefore subjected to be inspected within a six-year cycle. By virtue of being a member - there will be a random selection of 250 facilities within the country that will be inspected each year.Furthermore, the facility must inform the council of any change of physical address with immediate effect.
The registration by the council (SAVC) is pending the outcome of the electronic review thereof by the Inspections Committee and acceptance of these decisions at the next full meeting.
The confirmation by South African Veterinary Council follows just after the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) carried the audit cycle to the Northern Cape Provincial Veterinary Laboratory (NCPVL) in April 2018.DAFF and the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) have a shared responsibility to ensure that veterinary laboratories carry out their activities in such a way that the needs of the customers and regulatory requirements are met.
