PREMIER SAUL JOINS MINISTER OF WATER AND SANITAION, MR SENZO MCHUNU IN THE GAMAGARA MUNICIPALITY
Premier, Dr.Zamani Saul, together with Members of the Executive Council will today join the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mr.Senzo Mchunu in the Gamagara Municipal area.
The two day visit to the Province,concluded with a community engagement in the Tsineng village, which included community members from the surrounding villages, small farmers and representatives from the mining community. The aim of this engagement was to strengthen partnerships in ensuring access to water for all.
The engagement was held on the last day of Water Month and forms part of Government’s consultative process, in which the community was kept abreast on the First Phase of the Vaal Gamagara Water project, which was handed over to Bloem Water for management yesterday. The second phase of the project is estimated at a cost of R4 billion.
The Department of Water and Sanitation made use of the opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of using water wisely.
